The Frenship Powerlifting team headed to Plainview to start their season last weekend and raised the bar high for what looks to be a successful 2018.
Anthony Lara placed first in the 123-lb weight class with a total lift of 865 pounds and Isaiah Williams was a winner in the 220-lb weight class with a lift of 1,425 pounds. Jeremiah Cope brought home second place in the Super Heavyweight class with a total combined lift of 1,555 pounds.
A total lift is the combined weight lifted in three events: bench press, squat, and dead lift.
On the girls’ side, Frenship’s Claire Currie won in the 148-lb weight class with a total lift of 845 pounds.
