Fourth graders in Mrs. Hearn’s and Mrs. Grothusen’s classes at North Ridge Elementary came together for a cross-curricular lesson.
They explored science, math, english and reading. Their lesson was based on cooking but learned that procedures, fractions, predictions, mixtures and solutions were part of the recipe. This group of fourth graders walked away with a tasty treat, but will remember the lesson because of the real world context.
