Thirteen Tigers Named to All-District Soccer Team

An impressive show of dominance by the Frenship girls soccer team in 2018 has led to 13 Tiger players receiving individual recognition on the District 2-6A All-District team.

Junior Natalie Jones was named the District 2-6A Co-Offensive Player of the Year. She was a force for the Tigers offensively this season finishing her 2018 season with a team-leading 30 goals and 10 assists.

Senior Victoria Ramirez was named 2-6A Co-Midfielder of the Year. The four-year starter and LCU signee netted five goals and added four assists.

Senior Shadi Haney was the District Defender of the Year. Also a four-year starter and LCU signee, she ended 2018 with five goals.

Sophomore goal keeper Lexi Jackson was a 1st Team All-District selection. She allowed only eight goals all season and recorded 20 shutouts.

Junior Madalyn Hoel (17 goals, 13 assists), senior Bianca Cervantez and junior Samantha Vasquez were also all named to the 1st Team All-District roster.

Aryal Garcia, Carmen Cervantez, Brogan Ross and Morgan Zapata received 2nd Team All-District recognition while Alli Meade and Macie Jacobs received honorable mention.

Coach Gery Joy was named the district’s Co-Coach of the Year.

The Tigers finished the 2018 campaign with a 23-3-1 and made the Class 6A Regional Quarterfinals after winning District 2-6A with a perfect 10-0 record. They outscored their opponents 104-9 and recorded 20 shutouts in 27 matches. The roster included six academic all-state athletes and three seniors who signed to play at LCU.
