Tiger Hoops Teams Both Go 1-1 Last Week

Both Frenship basketball teams had a competitive stretch of basketball last week that ended with both teams splitting their two District 2-6A games.

After dropping a hard-fought 61-57 decision on the road at Tascosa, the FHS girls came home Friday and breezed through Midland Lee 69-30. Three Tigers – Ashlyn Caddel (12), Abre Godfrey (11) Maci Maddox (10) – finished the game in double figures in scoring.

Friday’s win marked the team’s twentieth consecutive win at the Tiger Pit – a streak that extends back to November 2017. The Tigers can clinch their seventeenth consecutive playoff appearance with a win Tuesday at Odessa High. The game tips at 6:00 p.m.

The Tiger scratched and clawed to an impressive 49-47 victory on the road Tuesday at Tascosa. Ja’Marqus Lewis led the way with 18 points while Calaway Dykes added 14. FHS fell just short on Friday to Midland Lee 68-61.

The boys return to the floor Tuesday night at Odessa High. Their game follows the girls at 7:30
