Tiger Softball Sweeps Competition Last Week

The Tiger softball team collected two more district wins last week. Check out the highlights from last week’s action:

FRENSHIP 12, MIDLAND LEE 1: It took a while for the Tiger bats to warm up, but once they did, the hit barrage was strong in a six-inning run-rule victory Tuesday at Lee. FHS finished with 12 hits as a team with Hailee Little leading the way by going 3-for-4 with four RBI. Maya Mongelli added three hits and Kyla Merritt had two. Torrey Hogan pitched a great complete game, giving up only one run on three hits while striking out four.

FRENSHIP 6, ODESSA 5: In a dramatic seventh inning that saw Odessa High score three in the top of the frame to take a 5-3 lead, Frenship responded with three – all off the bat of Torrey Hogan’s walkoff home run – to come from behind and win 6-5 Friday night. Hogan was 3-for-3 with five RBI and also earned the pitching victory after pitching a complete game with eight strikeouts.

Tiger softball sits at 17-7 overall and 3-1 in district. They return to action Tuesday at Midland High at 4:30 p.m.
