Fifth grade students at Upland Heights Elementary chose a service project instead of a field trip and honored local law enforcement today.
Law enforcement from the city of Lubbock, Lubbock County, city of Wolfforth and Frenship ISD all participated in response to the students’ invitation. Students served in every role from making plates and serving tables to greeting officers as they arrived and sitting with them while they ate.
The lunch consisted of spaghetti, sides and dessert. Frenship extends a special thanks to Aramark Food Services for their support of the event, as well as parents for donating the desserts.
The event ended with the students singing the song “A Million Dreams” dedicated to the officers. Check out photos from the luncheon in the gallery below.
