How do kindergartners celebrate the completion of a two-week study on Texas? With a rodeo of course!
Students at Legacy Elementary learned all about Texas in a study including the state flower, the state flag, the state insect and much more. They also read several books about Texas over the past two weeks.
To complete the study, students, parents and teachers celebrated with a rodeo on Tuesday. Each student made a stick horse for the big event and rotated through stations including barrel racing, bean bag toss, horseshoes, roping and cowboy relay races. They also ate some Texas grub – frito pies.
Pre-K students joined in on the rodeo fun as well. The rodeo took place outside on the west playground with the help of several parent volunteers.
